We are excited to announce the moderator of our symposium! Patricia Osseweijer is full professor and section leader of “Section Biotechnology and Society” at our own Delft University of Technology. She will host the interactive parts of our symposium, guiding a conversation with the speakers on societal questions and discuss topics provided by the audience. She is driven to link technological innovation in biotechnology with the challenges that society faces in obtaining a sustainable bioeconomy. Her focus is on social sustainability, integral impact assessment, public perceptions and ethics. In 2015 Patricia Osseweijer won the distinguished Lorentz Fellowship. Which is awarded to a leading researcher working on cutting-edge research at the interface between social sciences and natural or technological sciences.
