Diederik Jekel has the innate ability to clearly explain the world of science. He does so on radio, television, the internet, in various columns and his books (2014, Beta for Alfa’s). He received a Master’s degree in solid state physics in 2010 and shortly stayed at Universiteit Twente for research. In that same year he got the opportunity to discuss science on the popular daily TV-show De Wereld Draait Door (DWDD). Since then he became a full-time scientific journalist. He frequently gives presentations on different science related subjects to a wide range of audiences, from school children to professionals and from managers to scientists.
He also hosted his own weekly scientific show on national television called De Kennis van Nu and a prime time scientific quiz called Professor Nicolai & Dokter Beckand. Besides these shows for adults he regularly appears on programmes for children such as: Willem Wever, Zapp Live and others. He is often interviewed on radio and television to explain science related subject. And he is a frequently asked presenter and key-note speaker at various events.
