On May 4th, S.V.N.B. Hooke’s master committee organizes the Nanobiology Venture Café together with LS&H Lawyers in the Cambridge Innovation Center in the Rotterdam Groothandelsgebouw. We start the afternoon around 15.00 with a general introduction about the study program and the Venture Café.
This talk will be followed by several breakout sessions: inspiring interactive sessions, where one of our students introduces his/her project and is joined by a company or institution that works on related topics in their daily routine. Examples include:
- The CRISPR-Cas9 system is studied by several groups in our faculty. How can companies in the field of agriculture utilize these molecular machines to take their crops to the next level?
- Our students work on developing techniques that will allow personalized medicine. However, current rules and regulations will not allow implementation of this tailor made healthcare. How come our laws are falling behind with technological advances? And, more importantly, what can we do to allow a safe way to implement regulations that will allow personalized medicine?
- Scientific discoveries sometimes shake their respective fields. However, having a good idea is only part of the deal. How did successful entrepreneurs take their idea to the market?
Please save the date, and we will keep you informed!
